"Lady Blackbird" debuts her new persona as a hotly tipped US vocalist. Starting with a stirring interpretation of Nina Simone’s powerful civil rights anthem, LB is imbued with passion, enthusiasm and hopes arriving as this century’s newest voice on the global jazz scene. 

Whilst reflecting influences as varied as Billie Holiday, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner and Chaka Khan, the Los Angeles-based Lady Blackbird (LB aka Marley Munroe) possesses a style and emotional intensity that is very much her own. 

Her forthcoming debut album “Black Acid Soul”, produced by Chris Seefried features a stellar band including former Miles Davis pianist 'Deron Johnson', and presents a wholly fresh take on the jazz vocal idiom from an artist blessed with a bold, unmistakeable voice.
